U.S. Senate Bill to advance Economic Growth & Philanthropic Partnerships

On March 6, 2019, West Virginia’s U.S. Senator Shelley Moore Capito (R) along with Michigan’s U.S. Senator Gary Peters released their co-sponsored Senate Bill 676.  This legislation is an opportunity for economic growth, attracting/retaining talent, and philanthropic partnerships.

Upon its passage, the legislation will allow for grant-making foundations to use innovative workforce attraction and retention efforts by offering Come Home awards. These are modeled off the Community Foundation of St. Clair County in Michigan program. It will assist communities in attracting talent to come for the first time or come home by offering loan forgiveness awards.  For more details on the legislation and project, check out the media release here!
