2021 Appalachian Community Philanthropy Institute: Agenda

This event is designed for Community Foundations, United Ways, Hospital and University Foundations and more, to learn, connect and collaborate. We hope you will join us in both reflecting back on what the past year has taught us about our communities’ extraordinary resilience and in building the knowledge, skills, and connections to plan for a brighter future!

August 10th

1 p.m. – Registration opens

2:15 p.m. – Opening Keynote: Brenda Solarzano, Headwaters Health Foundation

3:30 p.m. – Skill Building Sessions

  • Skill Building Session A: “Donor Intent, Restricted Funds, and Best Practices for Creative Grantmaking in a Litigious World” with Zac Kester of Charitable Allies
  • Skill Building Session B: Nurturing Productive Conversations with Existing and Prospective Legacy Donors, with Susan Turnbull, Personal Legacy Advisors
