Forging Philanthropic Partnerships in Rural America by Building Bridges

Philanthropy West Virginia is committed to building bridges among national and local philanthropy to respond to the Mountain State and central Appalachia’s greatest challenges and opportunities. As a key focus of Philanthropy WV’s Education Funders Affinity Group, we are hosting the inaugural National Education Funders Summit in the Charleston, WV area to bring together national funders focused on education with state and local funders to advance our collective work.

The two-day program will host three to four national funders for a learning journey along with local and state foundations, corporations, and philanthropists around the key program areas of:

  • WV Grade Level Reading Program – early childhood education success
  • WV Climb – workforce readiness and development
  • General education interests
(for an overview of the collaborative’s priorities click here)

The summit will include learning journeys visiting parts of southern West Virginia showcasing successful work underway and opportunities along with networking and peer learning with local and regional foundations.   This program includes private meetings and open sessions including educators, students, foundations, corporations, nonprofits, community leaders, and other partners committed to strengthening education success in West Virginia.  This will spark collaborations among national, regional, and local funders to share learning and grantmaking to boost education success from early childhood to adulthood.

Individual program registrations are provided based upon the track participants are attending, check out the options on the REGISTRATION page!
