Please join Philanthropy WV and the Bernard McDonough Foundation for a briefing on the state of foster care in West Virginia, needs and funder partnership opportunities, June 29th from 10:00 to 11:30. Bob Boone, President of the Bernard McDonough Foundation and John Leite, Director of the Mid-Ohio Valley Substance Use Disorder Collaborative will brief attendees on their collaborative efforts to engage foster care providers and related organizations, and we will also hear from Steve Tuck of the Children’s Home Society of West Virginia on changes, challenges and opportunities in foster care. We will also provide time for peer sharing, to learn more about what projects are underway to strengthen foster care in the state.
This program is free for Philanthropy WV members and you can just email kate@philanthropywv.org to register. Non-member registration is $50, which can be paid on Eventbrite or by sending a check to Philanthropy West Virginia at PO Box 1584, Morgantown WV 26505.
This session is the first in a three part series, so we are starting with an overview and then digging into specific aspects of the foster care system in subsequent sessions. This series builds off our ongoing programming around addressing substance use disorder.
