Entry Points: Philanthropy’s Response to the Opioid Use Disorder Crisis

September 5, 2019 @ 10:00 am - 11:30 am

As rural and urban communities grapple with how to respond and tackle the epidemic of opioid use and substance use disorders, philanthropy is learning, leveraging, supporting, and leading in different ways to respond to the crisis.  Join Indiana Philanthropy Alliance, Philanthropy West Virginia, and Philanthropy Ohio as they share the work underway in their respective states with philanthropic leaders working with local partners making progress in advancing solutions.  This webinar will provide your organization and your members with ideas, strategies, and replicable models that your PSO and members can apply in your work.

Presenters:

  • Kim Barber Tieman, Program Director – Claude Worthington Benedum Foundation: Kim will share her expertise and lessons learned in developing a response in rural communities of West Virginia to the opioid crisis.  She will highlight collaborations and partnership building with federal and state government leaders.
  • Ellen Quigley, Vice President of Programs – Richard M. Fairbanks Foundation:  Ellen will share her foundation’s work in identifying the Substance Use Disorder landscape, gaps, opportunities for philanthropy, and partnership development from the Indiana perspective.

This program is free to Philanthropy WV and peer PSO members and $30 for non-members.  You may register by emailing: info@philanthropywv.org
