Ending Homelessness is Possible! – Webinar

May 20, 2020 @ 10:00 am - 11:15 am

Ending Homelessness is Possible!  Here’s How Funders Can Help

Ending homelessness is possible. In order to do so, communities must work together to understand who is homeless and why, as well as support the solutions we know end homelessness. Philanthropy has an important role to play in this work, which includes supporting systems change, public-private partnerships, and advocacy.

Join the first of this two-part webinar series, brought to you by Philanthropy West Virginia and Funders Together to End Homelessness, to learn about the root causes of homelessness and the evidence-based practices that we know end homelessness. We’ll look specifically at homelessness in West Virginia and what organizations are doing to house people before discussing how funders can use their resources most effectively to support these solutions.

By the end of this webinar, we hope participants will know:

  • Who experiences homelessness and why,
  • What ends homelessness and helps people remain stably housed,
  • How funders are working to prevent and end homelessness, even if they don’t consider themselves “homelessness funders,” and
  • How philanthropy can support real systems change.

We’ll kick off this webinar series on May 20 by laying some foundational knowledge about homelessness and housing instability. On August 26, we’ll delve deeper into how homelessness intersects with other systems, such as employment and education, and how funders can work at these intersections.

This webinar series is open to all funders and is free to members of Philanthropy West Virginia and Funders Together to End Homelessness and just $30 for nonmembers. Please CLICK HERE register for this webinar. If you are a non-member, pay for registration HERE. If you have any questions please contact Hilaria Swisher, Program and Engagement Coordinator at Philanthropy West Virginia.
