Program Cancellation Policy

Philanthropy West Virginia reserves the right to cancel or reschedule our education programs. Programs may be canceled because of, but not limited to: speaker and or facilitator illness, inclement weather conditions, or less than 3 registered participants.

POSTPONED – 4th Annual Public Policy Institute

The Policy Institute is being postponed and new dates will be shared in the near future.

The Institute is designed to support and engage foundation and nonprofit staff members, board members, volunteers, and supporters in the legislative and government relations process. This program is geared to everyone from beginners to experts with a desire to advocate for public policy issues that are of concern to your nonprofit, foundation and community.

For those registering online, we apply a 8.5% convenience fee to cover the processing cost of providing this service to you. We still accept standard registrations by check to do so please download the form and send in payment for this event in advance.

11:00 AM    Inaugural Meeting of the WV Impact Commission:

11:45 AM    Presentation of Sector Advocacy Awards:

  • We will recognize government leaders who have been strong advocates for the sectors over the past few years.

12:30 PM   Why Nonprofits & Funders Must Work together to Address Policy Issues Facing the Sector Keynote Speakers:

  • Donna Murray-Brown, Michigan Nonprofit Association
  • Rob Collier, Council of Michigan Foundations

1:30 PM     Introduction & Identification of Shared Public Policy Issues facilitated discussion

2:00 PM    Concurrent Breakout Sessions (set by experience levels):
