2017 Foundations On The Hill
March 20, 2017 @ 8:00 am - March 22, 2017 @ 5:00 pm
|
Several key issues of concern to foundations and nonprofits includes:
- Creating an overall cap on all deductions which would reduce charitable giving in our state
- Having a floor so that only donations over a certain amount can be deducted thus reducing giving from middle and low-income families
- A change to tripling the general deduction might eliminate the option of those from a middle and low income class from individual charitable giving at a higher level thus reducing private gifts in WV
- The proposed changes to the Johnson Amendment that will weaken or repeal this longstanding protection in the federal tax code for 501(c)3 organizations are troubling.
